Lotz Studio Dolls - Dolls & Teddy Bears

Jean D. Lotz specializes in original wooden doll sculpts and wooden Hitty dolls. Jean seriously started sculpting dolls again in 1994 and 1995 using only the finest, long-lasting materials. She creates very few dolls per year while working primarily in wood.

Although Jean Lotz has worked with many popular dollmaking materials, Jean is best known for her wooden dolls. Jean enjoys the constructive yet destructive quality about the wood carving process that is totally unique and very addictive. "The artistry is in the wood" no matter if the resultant sculpture is left natural or painted.

Jean primarily creates one-of-a-kind original dolls, but Jean also regularly creates a reproduction of Hitty. Jean's Lotz Studio "Lotzalove" Hitty is available in either white ash or basswood.
